القاعدة

الاختيار لا يتعلق بمدى قِدَم الحدث بل بما إذا كنت تذكر زمنًا منتهيًا. نقول I went to Berlin last year لأن last year انتهى، فنستخدم الماضي البسيط. ونقول I have been to Berlin حين يكون الزمن هو حياتك كلها حتى الآن وما زال مفتوحًا. والقاعدة نفسها تحكم this morning: في العاشرة ما زال الصباح قائمًا فنقول I have had two coffees this morning، وفي منتصف الليل انتهى فنقول I had two coffees this morning. والكلمات التي تحدد زمنًا منتهيًا — yesterday وago وin 2019 وlast week وwhen I was young — لا تأتي مع المضارع التام.

أمثلة

  1. I have worked here for three years.

    أعمل هنا منذ ثلاث سنوات.

  2. I worked there in 2019.

    عملت هناك في 2019.

  3. Have you seen the new manager today?

    هل رأيت المدير الجديد اليوم؟

  4. She lost her keys yesterday and found them this morning.

    أضاعت مفاتيحها أمس ووجدتها هذا الصباح.

أخطاء شائعة

  • خطأ: I have seen him yesterday.

    صحيح: I saw him yesterday.

    yesterday تحدد زمنًا منتهيًا، فلا يصح المضارع التام.

  • خطأ: When have you arrived?

    صحيح: When did you arrive?

    when تسأل عن نقطة زمنية منتهية، فتأخذ الماضي البسيط.

  • خطأ: I live here since 2020.

    صحيح: I have lived here since 2020.

    ما بدأ في الماضي وما زال قائمًا يأخذ المضارع التام.

    إذا قيلت والصباح ما زال قائمًا فالزمن مفتوح: المضارع التام.

    never تضع حياتك كلها حتى الآن في الاعتبار، فنستخدم المضارع التام.

    الإجابة: She sold the car two months ago.

    ago تثبّت نقطة منتهية، فالماضي البسيط.
