القاعدة

يحافظ السؤال المنقول على تراجع الزمن الذي تعلّمته في الجمل الخبرية ويضيف ترتيب السؤال غير المباشر: يسبق الفاعلُ الفعلَ وتختفي do وdoes وdid. فـ Where do you live? تصبح She asked me where I lived. وإذا لم توجد أداة استفهام فاربط بـ if أو whether: ‏Are you married? تصبح He asked if I was married. ولا توضع علامة استفهام لأن الجملة صارت خبرًا عن سؤال. أما الطلب أو الأمر المنقول فيستخدم asked أو told + الشخص + to: ‏She asked me to wait.

أمثلة

  1. She asked me where I lived.

    سألتني أين أسكن.

  2. He asked if I had an appointment.

    سألني إن كان لديّ موعد.

  3. They asked us to wait in the corridor.

    طلبوا منا الانتظار في الممر.

  4. The officer told me not to park there.

    قال لي الشرطي ألّا أركن هناك.

أخطاء شائعة

  • خطأ: She asked me where did I live.

    صحيح: She asked me where I lived.

    السؤال المنقول يأخذ ترتيب الجملة الخبرية وتُحذف did.

  • خطأ: He asked me was I married.

    صحيح: He asked me if I was married.

    بلا أداة استفهام تربط if أو whether النصفين.

  • خطأ: She asked me that I wait outside.

    صحيح: She asked me to wait outside.

    الطلب المنقول يأخذ to + الفعل المجرد.

    الإجابة: أ She asked whether the shop was still open.

    بعد whether تكون الجملة خبرية.

  3. ٣اختر الجملة الصحيحة.

    1. The nurse asked me that I take off my coat.
    2. The nurse asked me to take off my coat.
    3. The nurse asked to me to take off my coat.
    4. The nurse asked me taking off my coat.
    اعرض الإجابة

    الإجابة: ب The nurse asked me to take off my coat.

    الطلب هو ask + الشخص + to + الفعل المجرد.

  4. ٤اختر الجملة الصحيحة.

    1. He told me to not worry about it at all.
    2. He told me do not worry.
    3. He told to me not to worry.
    4. He told me not to worry.
    اعرض الإجابة

    الإجابة: د He told me not to worry.

    الأمر المنفي يضع not قبل to.

  5. ٥أكمل الفراغ.

    She asked me how long I _____ been waiting.

    1. have
    2. has
    3. did
    4. had
    اعرض الإجابة

    الإجابة: د She asked me how long I had been waiting.

    يتراجع المضارع التام في السؤال.

  6. ٦أكمل الفراغ.

    He asked _____ I could help him.

    1. do

    الإجابة: د He asked if I could help him.

    لا أداة استفهام، فـ if.

  7. ٧أكمل الفراغ.

    الطلب يأخذ to + الفعل المجرد.

    تتراجع are إلى were وwe جمع.

  9. ٩رتّب الكلمات لتكوين جملة صحيحة.

    if تربط النصفين ويتراجع الفعل.

  10. ١٠رتّب الكلمات لتكوين جملة صحيحة.

    He asked us to sign the form

    ask + الشخص + to + الفعل المجرد.
