De regel

Een handvol woordjes geeft bijna elk A0-antwoord op Where is …? in, on, under, next to, opposite, behind, between, near. Ze staan vóór de plaats. Twee zijn nu belangrijk: in is binnenin, on is op een oppervlak.

Veelgemaakte fouten

  • Fout: The keys are in the table.

    Goed: The keys are on the table.

    in is binnenin; een tafelblad is een oppervlak, dus on.

  • Fout: next the bakery

    Goed: next to the bakery

    next heeft to nodig: next to is één uitdrukking.
