القاعدة

هذه الأفعال الأربعة تقول جميعها إن شخصًا جعل آخر يفعل شيئًا، لكنها لا تأخذ الشكل نفسه. بعد make وlet يأتي الشخص ثم الفعل المجرد بلا to: ‏They made me wait وShe let me borrow it. وبعد allow وask وtell وwant وadvise يأتي الشخص ثم to: ‏They allowed me to wait وShe asked me to sign it. وlet لا مبني للمجهول لها إطلاقًا، وبديلها be allowed to. أما make فتكتسب to في المبني للمجهول: ‏I was made to wait.

make / let + person + BASE · allow / ask / tell + person + TO · was made to …

أمثلة

  1. They made me wait outside for an hour.

    أجبروني على الانتظار في الخارج ساعة.

  2. My boss let me leave early.

    سمح لي مديري بالمغادرة مبكرًا.

  3. The doctor advised me to rest for a week.

    نصحني الطبيب بالراحة أسبوعًا.

  4. We are not allowed to park here.

    لا يُسمح لنا بالوقوف هنا.

أخطاء شائعة

  • خطأ: They made me to sign it.

    صحيح: They made me sign it.

    make تأخذ الفعل المجرد في المبني للمعلوم.

  • خطأ: She let me to use her car.

    صحيح: She let me use her car.

    let لا تأخذ to أبدًا.

  • خطأ: I was let to go home.

    صحيح: I was allowed to go home.

    لا مبني للمجهول لـ let، وبديلها be allowed to.

    allow + الشخص + to + الفعل.

    make تحتفظ بالفعل المجرد حتى مع فاعل غير عاقل.
