القاعدة

حرف الجر مع الاسم يعمل كثيرًا عمل الصفة لوصف حالة: at risk وat stake وin charge وin demand وon hold وon strike وout of order وout of date وunder way وunder pressure وunder review وunder construction وbeyond repair وbeyond doubt وoff limits. وتأتي بعد be وseem وremain أو بعد الاسم. وحرف الجر ثابت: under construction لا in construction، وon strike لا in strike. احفظ كل عبارة كوحدة.

أخطاء شائعة

  • خطأ: The new stadium is in construction.

    صحيح: The new stadium is under construction.

    العبارة الثابتة under construction.

  • خطأ: Her guilt is out of doubt.

    صحيح: Her guilt is beyond doubt.

    العبارة الثابتة beyond doubt.

  • خطأ: The plan is in hold.

    صحيح: The plan is on hold.

    العبارة الثابتة on hold.
