그리고 · 그래서 · 그렇지만

The rule

These three stand at the FRONT of the second sentence, never between the two. 그리고 adds, 그래서 gives the result, 그렇지만 contrasts. Each is a whole word with a space after it, and each sentence keeps its own 해요 ending.

Pattern

문장. + 그리고 / 그래서 / 그렇지만 + 문장.

Examples

  1. 한국어가 어려워요. 그렇지만 재미있어요.

    Korean is hard. But it is fun.

  2. 늦게 자요. 그래서 피곤해요.

    I sleep late. So I am tired.

  3. 커피를 마셔요. 그리고 빵을 먹어요.

    I drink coffee. And I eat bread.
