The rule

도 means "too" and 만 means "only", and both REPLACE 은/는 and 이/가 rather than joining them. 저도 가요 — not 저는도. 물만 주세요 — not 물을만. Neither changes shape for 받침, which makes them two of the easiest particles in the language.

명사 + 도 · 명사 + 만

Examples

  1. 저도 학생이에요.

    I am a student too.

  2. 물만 주세요.

    Just water, please.

  3. 채소만 먹어요.

    I eat only vegetables.
