أخطاء شائعة

• ✗خطأ: I can’t hardly hear you.

  ✓صحيح: I can hardly hear you.

  hardly منفية أصلًا.

• ✗خطأ: I think he won’t come.

  ✓صحيح: I don’t think he’ll come.

  تضع الإنجليزية النفي عادة على think.

• ✗خطأ: “Is it serious?” — “I hope no.”

  ✓صحيح: “Is it serious?” — “I hope not.”

  الإجابة القصيرة المنفية I hope not.
