The rule

möchte is the polite way to order, book or ask for anything, and it is the single most useful verb at A0. The other verb goes to the END, in its infinitive form: Ich möchte einen Termin machen.

Pattern

ich möchte · du möchtest · er möchte · wir möchten | möchte … + Infinitiv am Ende

  4. Wir möchten bitte bezahlen.

Keep in mind

  • Ich will einen Kaffee. · Ich möchte einen Kaffee.

    will is blunt; möchte is what you say to a stranger.
