-고 싶어요

The rule

Attach 고 싶어요 straight to the dictionary stem — no vowel harmony, no irregularities: 가고 싶어요, 먹고 싶어요, 사고 싶어요. The thing you want keeps 을/를 as usual. It is only about yourself; asking someone else uses the same form as a question.

동사 어간 + 고 싶어요

Examples

  1. 한국에 가고 싶어요.

    I want to go to Korea.

  2. 비빔밥을 먹고 싶어요.

    I want to eat bibimbap.

  3. 뭐 하고 싶어요?

    What do you want to do?

Keep in mind

  • 가고 싶어요

    stem + 고 싶어요, always

  • 먹고 싶어요

    no 어요 change on the first verb
