The rule

A pronoun goes in front of a conjugated verb: lo compro, se lo he dado. With an INFINITIVE or a GERUND it has a choice: in front of the whole chain, or attached to the end — lo voy a comprar = voy a comprarlo; lo estoy leyendo = estoy leyéndolo. It may not sit in the middle: voy lo a comprar is wrong. With an affirmative command it MUST go on the end (cómpralo, dígamelo); with a negative one it MUST go in front (no lo compres). When pronouns are attached, write an accent if the stress would otherwise move: leyendo → leyéndolo, di + me + lo → dímelo.

Keep in mind

Lo voy a comprar. / Voy a comprarlo.
Both are right; only the middle position is wrong.
