Deelwoordconstructies: voltooid, passief, ontkennend — en de valkuil

Participle clauses: perfect, passive, negative — and the dangling trap

C1 · Vergevorderd Zinnen verbinden Vragen 10

De regel

C1 gebruikt het volledige spectrum van deelwoordconstructies: voltooid (Having worked abroad, she…), passief (Written in 1920, the novel…, Having been told twice, he…) en ontkennend (Not knowing the area, we…), ook na voegwoorden (Once opened…, While waiting…, After being questioned…). De belangrijkste regel: het onderwerp van het deelwoord moet het onderwerp van de hoofdzin zijn. Walking home, the rain started zegt dat de regen liep — een bungelend deelwoord.

Patroon

Having + past participle (done first / cause) · past participle / Having been + past participle (passive) · Not + -ing · When / While / Once / After / Before + participle · the participle’s subject = the main subject
