De regel

Een absolute constructie heeft een eigen onderwerp maar geen persoonsvorm, en geeft omstandigheden, oorzaak of tijd: Weather permitting, we’ll eat outside; The meeting over, everyone went home. with + zelfstandig naamwoord + deelwoord is de alledaagse vorm: With prices rising, people spend less. Vaste uitdrukkingen: all things considered, time permitting, that said, that being the case. Twee volledige zinnen met alleen een komma zijn fout.
