أخطاء شائعة

• ✗خطأ: Take an umbrella unless it rains.

  ✓صحيح: Take an umbrella in case it rains.

  in case احتياط مسبق، وunless شرط.

• ✗خطأ: I will come unless I do not finish early.

  ✓صحيح: I will come if I finish early.

  unless تحمل النفي أصلًا، فالنفي الثاني يعكس المعنى.

• ✗خطأ: Providing that you will pay by Friday, I will hold it.

  ✓صحيح: Providing that you pay by Friday, I will hold it.

  جملة الشرط تأخذ المضارع لا will.
