De regel

Het Engels vermijdt lange onderwerpen aan het begin. Een bijzin of infinitief als onderwerp gaat naar achteren en een loos it neemt zijn plaats in: It surprised nobody that he resigned. Formele teksten gebruiken vaste kaders: It is worth noting that, It should be stressed that, It remains to be seen whether, It goes without saying that, It is no coincidence that.
