القاعدة

تتيح العبارات الاعتراضية للمتحدث أن يخرج قليلًا عن الجملة ليشير إلى المصدر أو اليقين أو النبرة: as far as I know وas I understand it وas it happens (في الواقع، صدفة) وif you ask me وto put it mildly وso to speak وstrictly speaking وcome to think of it وmind you وI gather وI suppose. وتأتي في البداية أو الوسط أو النهاية بين فاصلتين. ومن الأخطاء: according to me (والصواب in my opinion) وas long as I know وas far as I know it.

أخطاء شائعة

  • خطأ: According to me, the plan is too risky.

    according to لنقل رأي الآخرين، ولرأيك in my opinion.

  • خطأ: As long as I know, he still lives there.

    صحيح: As far as I know, he still lives there.

    as far as I know تقصر الادعاء على علمك، وas long as شرط.

  • خطأ: As far as I can tell it, nothing is missing.

    صحيح: As far as I can tell, nothing is missing.

    العبارة الاعتراضية بلا مفعول.
