Regular -er and -ir verbs

The rule

The other two families differ from -ar in only one vowel — and from each other in only one form. comer gives como, comes, come, comemos, comen. vivir gives vivo, vives, vive, vivimos, viven. The only difference between them is nosotros: comEmos against vivImos.

Pattern

Examples

  1. No como carne de cerdo.

    I do not eat pork.

  2. Vivo en Valencia con mi familia.

    I live in Valencia with my family.

  3. Bebemos mucha agua.

    We drink a lot of water.
