se: what people do in general
The rule
When the person does not matter, Spanish uses se with the verb in the third person. With no object, the verb stays singular: aquí se vive bien, ¿cómo se dice esto?, se busca camarero. When a THING follows, the verb agrees with the thing: se vende piso but se venden pisos, se alquila habitación, se alquilan habitaciones. You see it on every sign and in every recipe: se prohíbe fumar, se añade la sal. With people after a, the verb stays singular: se invita a todos los vecinos.
se + 3.ª persona: se vende piso / se venden pisos · se puede + infinitivo
